Performance Direct Insurance happily supported the Silverstone Classic Car Show – Rocking and Racing, up at Silverstone Circuit on 22nd – 24th July. The Performance Direct stand featured a beautiful Volkswagen Karmann Ghia and an original Fiat 500 supplied by The Classic Car Club – London. As stunning as the cars were the two Performance Direct Promo Girls, Hayley Sams and Michelle Westby who, as always, created quite a stir at the show. The event itself was one where World Records fell one after the other, firstly with 1104 race entries and over 8000 classic cars being displayed the Silverstone Classic is claiming to be the biggest race meeting ever staged in motor racing history. Over 120 car clubs turned up to support the event and to share their motoring pride and joy with like-minded motoring fans. To celebrate the 50th birthday of the Jaguar E-type Silverstone proudly provided the setting for the World Record for the \’largest parade of Jaguar cars\’ with 767 Jaguar E-types taking place in the special parade lap of the famous and historic Grand Prix circuit. There were over 1000 E-types at the event and this included some rather special examples including the oldest E-type in existence, the prototype famed for it\’s number plate of 9600 HP. There were too many classic cars to mention here, from every Ferrari you can imagine, and including such famed car marque\’s as Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini, Morgan, Jaguar, Porsche, Arbath, Fiat, Ford, Mini, American Classics ……
